What To Expect

Visiting any church for the first time can be an intimidating experience.  We invite you to experience a friendly welcome and a place where you will feel at home.  Our worship services bring inspiring music, informative preaching and an atmosphere where you can experience the presence and power of God.  Greeters are located at every entrance and will be happy to help you and your family through the church and direct you to Sunday school classes or our worship service.  Help is always available at our Welcome Center!

Worship Service

A typical worship service includes a blend of congregational and special singing, clear and challenging Bible preaching, and is concluded with an invitation to pray or make a personal decision to follow Christ as Savior or to walk more closely with Him.  In addition, on Sunday evenings our service includes a special prayer time when we join together to pray for special needs.  Teenagers may sit  with their parents, but are encouraged to sit with their peers in our "teen section" which is to the right as you walk in the sanctuary.  We encourage children to attend Children's Church during the 10:30 am hour. It is located right outside our children's Sunday School classes in the Fellowship Hall.  They will enjoy an active time of singing and the fun of our puppet ministry as well as learning Biblical lessons taught on their levels.

Sunday School

Bible teaching is the main emphasis in all of our classes.  If you are considering joining Friendship, we recommend you visit several different Sunday school classes to find one that fills your spiritual needs best.  We offer several adult classes, all taught by excellent teachers.  Teen classes are grouped by grade:  Navigators (grades 6-8), and Trailblazers (grades 9-12).  Classes for elementary age children are by grade level and offer fun and friendly Bible-centered classes.  Our nursery divides children by age, where the 2-3 year old children are provided with age-appropriate lessons and a time of singing with our favorite puppet, Bruno.

Wednesday Evening

From September through June, adults enjoy "Practical Christianity", practical insights for life from God's Word. Wednesday evenings include an expanded worship time followed by a message that deals with the everyday issues we face as Christians.  Issues covered include questions like--How do I deal with my family? How can I tell the truth in tough situations?  How do I answer the tough questions about my faith? How do I overcome doubt? At the end of each message, we have a special prayer time.

In the months of June through August we offer Christian Life University (CLU).  CLU generally consists of two 4- or 5-week semesters of classes that focus on a variety of subjects.  You may choose a class that is of interest to you.  Teenagers may also choose to attend these CLU classes when Students With A Target (read more about this on the Teen page) is not in session.  Children will attend Awana during the regular school year, and then are offered their own version of CLU called Christian Kid University with classes geared just for them.
